died Feb. 28, 1928.[1]
William was promoted to 1st Corp. in IA 40 INF. F Co. on 09 Sept. 1864 and mustered out 02 Aug 1865 at Fort Gibson. In The Union Army, vol. 4 infor says he fought 03 Sept. 1863 at Brownsville, AR; 03 Apr. 1864 Okolona, AR; 10 Apr. 1864 Prairie D' Anna, AR; 18 Apr. 1864 Camden, AR; 25 Apr. 1864 Prairie D' Anna, AR; 27 Apr. 1864 Camden, AR; 30 Apr. 1864 Jenkins Ferry, AR.[2]
